How To Get Your Machinima On Baker+

The Affiliate Program

The Baker+ Affiliate Program is a network of all machinima creators whose work has been distributed on Baker+. Affiliates receive access to exclusive channels on the Baker+ Discord Server, where they can connect with other Affiliates.

Unsolicited Submissions

Baker+ accepts unsolicited submissions only via the form provided in this article. Any other submission (either via Discord Message, Mail or other) will be rejected and/or referred to the form. This is to ensure that all submissions provide the same information about their productions, and to allow a more streamlined review process.

We accept unsolicited submissions through the form above with pitches for Original Productions, as long as they contain a synopsis, logline and nutshell. More information on what the pitch should include and where to send it to can be found here.

Quality Check (QC)

To ensure the machinimas on Baker+ are high-quality, every submission will be reviewed. This is a simple fail or pass test, where the machinima has to meet non-negotiable terms in order to be considered for distribution. However, simply meeting these quality requirements does not guarantee distribution.

• The provided media must be at least in Full HD (1920×1080) or higher, and at least 24 fps.
• The media must be 16:9.
  • This however can be bypassed within reason, such as creative impact. Example: A parody/hommage of an older TV Series, where a 4:3 ratio was used.
• The media must contain voice action (VA) in some way, shape or form. 
• “Let’s Plays” of any kind will not be accepted for distribution.
• The production is complete. If it’s a series, all episodes are complete and ready to be released
  • The request for distribution may be made close to the end of the production. However, movies/series will only be shown (or uploaded) on Baker+ at the official release date of the movie/show.
  • Baker+ offers the option to release episodes on a schedule or all at once, depending on the creator’s wishes.

If the production meets the above requirements, it will move on to the next review phase.

Content Review Process

After the quality check, each submission will undergo a review process with the following criteria. Most are a case-by-case basis and heavily depend on the context of the production.

• The majority of the media must be shot cinematically. 
  1. First Person POV is accepted, if fitting to the storyline or cinematography. It must not contain any HUD (Heads Up Display) overlays.
• The media must contain a scripted storyline. 
  1. Roleplay productions where the story is not specifically scripted will only be distributed on a case-by-case basis.
• Baker+ will not deny distribution subjectively based on the storyline, which will be judged fairly with an objective standpoint. However, Baker+ reserves the right to deny distribution due to the story for any reason.
• The movie/show must contain voice action (VA) in some way, shape or form. Submissions that do not feature VA may still be submitted for distribution, but it will be decided on a case-by-case basis.
• The movie/show must have a minimum runtime of five minutes, if it is a standalone title.
